Sister of Missing Oakland Woman Amy Hillyard Holds Onto Hope in Emotional New Video

The sister of missing Oakland coffee shop owner Amy Hillyard has released a heartfelt video expressing hope that her sister is still alive, more than three weeks after she disappeared.

Amy Hillyard, 52, co-owner of Farley’s Coffee and a well-known community figure in Oakland, was last seen on March 25 near the 500 block of Radnor Road. Authorities later confirmed surveillance footage showed her at Dimond Park around 4:30 p.m. the same day.

In the emotional video shared this week, her sister Alexandra Hillyard spoke directly to Amy, describing a recent dream that gave her renewed hope amid the uncertainty.

“I had a dream the other night that you’re alive and that you’re OK,” Alexandra said. “I know that it was just a dream, but it gave me hope.”

She also highlighted the pain felt by family and friends as the search continues, describing Amy as a loving sister, aunt, and community supporter who has deeply impacted many lives.

Search Efforts Continue in Oakland

The Oakland Police Department and hundreds of volunteers have continued coordinated search efforts across Dimond Park, the Oakland hills, and hiking trails along Skyline Boulevard. Amy is considered at risk due to an undisclosed medical condition.

Authorities say she was last seen wearing a white short-sleeved top, light-colored jeans, and white sneakers with black stripes.

A large community search event is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, beginning at Farley’s East coffee shop at 33 Grand Avenue in Oakland. Volunteers and family members plan to fan out across neighborhoods and nearby trails frequently visited by Amy.

Family and Community Rally for Answers

Amy’s husband, Chris Hillyard, has also spoken publicly, describing her as someone who brings out the best in people and strengthens community connections.

“Amy’s superpower is to bring out the best in people,” he said. “Now we need those powers to bring her home.”

Hillyard has been involved in local nonprofit work and serves as board president of the Piedmont East Bay Children’s Choir, further emphasizing her strong community ties.

Reward Offered for Information

The family is offering a $10,000 reward for information that leads to Amy Hillyard’s safe return. Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the Oakland Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit at 510-238-3641.

The search remains active as family, friends, and volunteers continue to hope for answers in the case.
