Staten Island Shooting Outside Target Leaves 20-Year-Old Woman Injured; Police Search for Suspect

Staten Island, NY — Police are investigating a Friday morning shooting outside a Target store on Richmond Avenue in New Springville after a 20-year-old woman was shot in the neck as she arrived at work.

The incident occurred around 7:35 a.m. outside the Target located at 2873 Richmond Avenue, near the Staten Island Mall, according to law enforcement sources.

Victim Hospitalized in Stable Condition

Authorities confirmed that the woman sustained a gunshot wound to the neck and was transported to a nearby hospital. She is currently listed in stable condition as she continues to receive treatment.

Suspect Fled on Motorcycle

Investigators say the suspected shooter, believed to be the victim’s boyfriend in his 20s, fled the scene on a motorcycle heading eastbound on Yukon Avenue toward Forest Hill Road.

No arrests have been made, and the suspect remains at large.

NYPD Investigation Underway

The NYPD has launched an active investigation to determine the circumstances leading up to the shooting and to locate the suspect. Detectives are also reviewing possible motives and witness accounts from the area.
