Student Kills 9 in Turkey’s Second School Shooting in 2 Days

A tragic wave of school violence has shaken Turkey after a second shooting in just two days left multiple victims dead and injured.

According to reports, a 14-year-old student opened fire inside a middle school in Kahramanmaras on Wednesday, killing nine people and injuring 13 others. Authorities confirmed that six of the wounded remain in critical condition. The attacker, who was armed with multiple firearms believed to belong to his father, a retired police officer, also died during the incident. Officials have not yet confirmed whether he was killed by responding officers or died by suicide.

The shocking attack comes just a day after another school shooting in nearby Sanliurfa, where a former student injured 16 people before taking his own life. These back-to-back incidents have raised alarm nationwide, as school shootings have historically been rare in Turkey.
