According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the devastating head-on collision occurred on the night of April 13, 2026, along Missouri Route 100 in Franklin County. Emergency responders arrived swiftly at the scene and attempted life-saving measures. Tragically, Mike and Rachel Elbert were pronounced dead at the scene. Their young daughter was rushed in critical condition to St. Louis Children’s Hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

The driver of the Ford Explorer, a 70-year-old woman from New Haven, Missouri, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital Washington for treatment.
